TOURS › CAESAREA, HAIFA & AKKO
The Mediterranean Coast
A day along the Mediterranean, heading north from Tel Aviv. Caesarea National Park comes first: Herod’s showpiece harbor city, where Paul was imprisoned and Peter baptized the centurion Cornelius, with its theatre, hippodrome and aqueduct set against a very blue sea. Then Haifa, for the view over the Baha’i Gardens as they cascade down Mount Carmel to the bay. The day ends in Akko (Acre), a UNESCO World Heritage city: the Crusader Knights’ Halls, the Templars’ tunnel, and a walk through the old city to the fishing harbor.
