Nazareth & the Sea of Galilee

Full day · leaving early from Tel Aviv Private. Your group only Guide + VIP vehicle included

The day begins where Jesus grew up and ends where he taught. In the morning, Nazareth: the Basilica of the Annunciation rising over the grotto where tradition places Mary’s “yes,” and the old market climbing the hill behind it. Then north to the Sea of Galilee, to stand on the shore in the early quiet, water lapping the same basalt stones, and hear the verses read aloud, right where it happened. Capernaum, “the town of Jesus”; the Mount of Beatitudes above the lake; Tabgha, where the loaves and fish are remembered in fourth-century mosaic; and at the end of the day the Jordan River, where many travelers choose to renew their baptism. It is a full day, and your guide knows both the stones and the text.

Highlights

  • The Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth
  • Mount Precipice above Nazareth (for Evangelical travelers, optional)
  • Capernaum: the town of Jesus and its synagogue
  • Tabgha: the Church of the Loaves and Fishes
  • The Mount of Beatitudes above the lake
  • Yardenit, the Jordan River baptismal site

GOOD TO KNOW

A busy day: we leave Tel Aviv early and drive to Nazareth first. A night near the lake makes it calmer. Modest dress at the churches; bring a change of clothes if you plan to enter the Jordan. We happily coordinate a pastor-led moment at any site.
