Every trip we plan is written for one family or group, so the details of your booking are in your personal proposal. This page explains the rules that sit behind it, in plain language. If anything in your proposal differs from this page, the proposal applies.
How a trip is booked
We send you a day-by-day proposal that says what is included. It also says whether a deposit is needed, when it is due and how to pay it. Your trip is confirmed once you accept the proposal and we have received any deposit it asks for. Until then nothing is held for you.
If you need to change or cancel
We keep this flexible. Your proposal gives a cut-off date. Until that date you can change your plans or cancel, on the terms written in the proposal. After the cut-off date, the proposal says what applies. Costs that we have already paid for you and cannot get back, such as a hotel booking or an entrance ticket, are named in the proposal, so there are no surprises.
If you need to change something, write to us as early as you can. Most changes, such as moving a day or swapping a site, are easy to make while the trip is still being planned.
If we need to change your trip
Our tours run in all weather, so weather is not a reason to cancel. Security conditions can sometimes make a day, a route or a site unsuitable. In that case we look first for another date or another route, and we agree it with you. A private tour can adjust in real time, which makes this much easier than on a fixed group tour. If a change that works for you is not possible, we refund the part of the trip that was not used.
