Banks in Israel

In Israel, banks have many branches in both large cities, and small communities. Usually, banks are open from 8:30 AM, to 12:00 PM from Sundays to Thursdays. Some banks choose to also open from 4:00 PM to 6:00PM on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, in order to allow people working during the mornings to access them.

Without exception, banks are closed on Saturdays. Some branches may open on Fridays on the early hours, i.e.: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

State of Israel Bonds
Those who have State of Israel Bonds, whether they are in their name, or they have been transferred to them, may redeem the bonds at any bank prior to their date of maturity for the full nominal value plus interest. The payment will be made in local currency, that is New Israeli Shekel, and up to 2500 USD per month.

Opening Bank Accounts
As an additional option, tourists and foreign residents may open a non-resident account at any bank.
